The digital and intelligent cultivation system supported by next-generation information technology is a prerequisite for the modernization of agriculture and rural areas. It is also an important manifestation of implementing the digital countryside strategy in the field of crop cultivation. The boost to agricultural production efficiency from traditional inputs like chemical fertilizers and pesticides is increasingly diminishing, while the negative impacts of extensive input are becoming evident. According to the FAO, the annual average nitrogen fertilizer application per hectare of farmland in China is 305kg, more than four times the global average, and pesticide usage per unit of farmland in China is nearly five times the global average.
